Position Summary – Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

The Registered Practical Nurse(RPN) is responsible for planning nursing care in an assigned area as required by individualized client needs and according to dependent and independent nursing functions while adhering to recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • CNO Registration
  • RPNAO Membership
  • Current Healthcare Provider training.
  • Minimum 1 year in nursing in a hospital environment preferred.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail required.
  • Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting and supporting patients.
  • Must demonstrate effective communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions when clarification is needed.
  • Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion.
  • Must be able to be depended upon to plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion.
  • Must be able to demonstrate reliability by arriving to work on time and taking breaks in expected time frames.
  • Able to meet all productivity requirements.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
